On Tuesday, August 19, India announced a 15-member squad for the Asia Cup. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team, but surprisingly, Shubman Gill was named his deputy, replacing Axar Patel, who still continues to be a part of the team.
Notably, the upcoming edition of the continental cup will kickstart from September 9 with eight teams taking part. The last time the Asia Cup took place in a T20I format was back in 2022 when Sri Lanka were crowned the champions after beating Pakistan in the finals.

It is worth noting that since the 2022 Asia Cup, only four players have been retained by the selectors for the upcoming continental cup.
Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya is one player who was part of the previous edition and will continue to be the key all-rounder for the Men in Blue in the upcoming tournament in the UAE.

Suryakumar Yadav will feature in the upcoming event with a lot of responsibility as the 34-year-old will lead the team in the 2025 Asia Cup, whereas he featured just as a player in the 2022 edition.

Notably, Arshdeep Singh is the only seamer set to be part of both Asia Cups, as he was also featured in the 2022 Asia Cup.
