Virat Kohli will be on par with Tendulkar, Bradman by the time the retires: Rashid Latif

Former India captain Virat Kohli's credentials as a batter have been unmatched, while his form lately has been anything but unparalleled.

Struggling to find runs, Kohli has not made an international hundred since 2019 and now finds himself out of the ICC's top-10 Test batters' list after six-long years.

However, former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif believes that the former India skipper's form will return as world cricket still needs him.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Latif said, "I do believe he will come back. I have some hopes. World cricket needs him. Because of the way he plays. In this very match at Edgbaston, he went and picked up a fight. (Pange lete hai full, kabhi Leach se le liya, kabhi Root se le liya.) So this is a positive sign that he will surely come back."

One of the most technically apt keepers, Latif, was of the opinion that the right-hander's name will be spoken in the same breath alongside Sachin Tendulkar and even Sir Donald Bradman by the time he finishes his career.

"These things happen in every player's life. When he leaves cricket, his name will be on par with Sachin Tendulkar. Who knows, it may be on par with Sir Don Bradman," Latif added.

On why Kohli will find his form back, Latif explained, "Because he is a team man and he supports his players well. And the way he supports them, there is hope that he will come back."

In the rescheduled fifth Test against England at Edgbaston, Kohli scored 11 and 20 runs, respectively. His next assignment will be the limited-overs leg.
