Virat Kohli has hit back at a publication house for sharing a fake news about him and his wife Anushka Sharma. Several media agencies had reported news that Kohli was building a cricket pitch at his Alibaug farmhouse.

The reports were refuted by the Indian cricketer himself, as he mocked a certain publication on his Instagram story.

Virat Kohli slams media for sharing fake news

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli recently slammed a report from The Times of India. The publication, along with several other Indian news outlets, reported that Kohli was building a cricket pitch at his Alibaug farmhouse.

The cricketer singled out Times of India by sharing a screenshot of their article on his Instagram account. Along with the screenshot, the batting icon wrote:

“bachpan se jo akhbaar pada, wo bhi fake news chhapne lage.” (the newspaper I have been reading since childhood, itself is publishing fake news these days)

In the meantime, Kohli is enjoying a much-needed break from the game, as he was rested from the T20I series in West Indies earlier this month. He is also not a part of the touring Indian party for Ireland T20Is.

The legendary cricketer, however, will soon be seen gracing his Indian ODI jersey at the upcoming Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. The ‘Men in Blue’ will play their tournament opener against Pakistan on September 2. The match will be played out at the iconic Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
