An old video from a match between India and Sri Lanka has resurfaced on social media on India's 77th Independence Day. Originally posted by the official BCCI handle on X in January 2020, the goosebumps-inducing video shows the crowd in the stadium in Guwahati singing Vande Mataram before the start of the play. This remains of the best crowd moments in Indian cricket history.

The video surfaced fans of the Indian Cricket Team signing Vande Mataram and flashing lights using their respective mobile phones, creating an atmosphere for the ages, before the Indians star players - Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant - entered the stadium.

Even the Indian trio felt the goosebumps because of the atmosphere created by the Guwahati crowd.

Opened in 2012, the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati has hosted three ODIs and six T20Is. The venue has also hosted a few Indian Premier League matches.

Meanwhile, the coveted World Cup trophy will be taken on a tour in Guwahati as part of its ongoing global tour. On September 13, the trophy will be showcased at prominent locations in the city including South Point School, Barsapara, and Town Club.

The World Cup trophy will not only be displayed in 20 cities across India but will also tour countries such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Papua New Guinea, Italy and Malaysia among other. The 2023 World Cup begins in October 5 and go on till November 19.

India last won an ICC trophy a decade ago - the 2013 Champions Trophy under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. They will be looking to end their long wait to lift another ICC Trophy when the World Cup is played later this year.
