Rajasthan Royals made a massive call, trading Sanju Samson to Chennai Super Kings ahead of the IPL 2026 season. While the former captain became a part of the Super Kings setup, RR retained Dhruv Jurel as their first-choice wicketkeeping option. 

Considering they currently have only one genuine keeper-batter and a solitary overseas slot, Rajasthan Royals might be looking to sign an Indian wicketkeeper. As the IPL 2026 auction approaches, here are three Indians whom RR can sign as Samson's replacement for the next season. 

Mukul Choudhary

  • Mukul Choudhary is a promising talent from Rajasthan and has grabbed a million eyeballs through scintillating performances. 
  • The young batter is in sublime form of late, amassing 87 runs at a blistering strike rate of 235.14 in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. 
  • He bats in the middle order and if Rajasthan Royals slot Dhruv Jurel in their top four, Choudhary can be a great addition to their batting lineup lower down the order.

  • Tushar Raheja is one of the most destructive young top-order batters. As he generally bats in the top three, Raheja can be a like-for-like replacement for Sanju Samson. 
  • He enjoyed stellar success in the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2025 season. In nine innings, Raheja smashed 488 runs at an average of 61 and a strike rate of 185.55. 
  • Tushar Raheja has a base price of INR 30 lakhs, and as they have 16.05 crores in the purse, he can be a budget pick for the inaugural champions in the IPL 2026 auction. 

Kartik Sharma

  • Kartik Sharma became a household name following his batting exploits in the Punjab T20, where he smashed 457 runs in just ten innings at an average of 57.13 and a strike rate of 168.01. 
  • He also had an outstanding Vijay Hazare Trophy for Rajasthan, scoring 445 runs at a superb average of 55.63 and a strike rate of 118.04. 
  • He is a middle-order batter and can solidify the RR batting lineup by empowering them with an explosive option. If Jurel is promoted up the order, Kartik Sharma can be an excellent candidate to spearhead their middle-order and play as a backup wicketkeeper option in the IPL 2026.
