However, in his latest Instagram post, a relaxed Kohli shared a picture of himself relishing a serene moment while commuting on public transport.

The 34-year-old icon was engrossed in reading a newspaper, seemingly unfazed by the hustle and bustle of the metro surroundings. Wearing a sleek black T-shirt, complemented by a matching wristwatch and grey-coloured pants, Kohli effortlessly exuded his signature style.

“When in the tube,” captioned Kohli referring to the underground metro.

Notably, during an interview conducted amidst the IPL 2023, the former skipper of the Royal Challengers Bangalore expressed his affinity for spending time in the United Kingdom. He expressed his desire for an appearance of anonymity that allows one to enjoy public life, a luxury that his immense popularity in India has deprived him of.

"I have not walked once in India and that is something I miss so badly. If someone gives me 12 hours, I would honestly just walk around. That’s a different joy of walking on the road, go whichever shop you want, eat or buy something. I don’t even remember the last time I walked on the road here,” Kohli told Star Sports.

Meanwhile, following the disappointment of the World Test Championship (WTC) final, Kohli was included in both the Test and One Day International (ODI) squads for India's forthcoming tour of the West Indies. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently unveiled the highly anticipated Indian squad for West Indies tour on Friday.

It is pertinent to mention that West Indies are one of Kohli’s favourite opponents. His previous encounters with the Caribbean cricketing giants have yielded extraordinary performances, with the right-handed batsman notching 822 runs across 14 Test matches, including two centuries. Moreover, in ODIs, Kohli has been sensational, having scored a staggering 2,261 runs in 42 games which include nine centuries.

The Indian team is set for a rigorous itinerary during their sojourn to the West Indies, encompassing two Tests, three ODIs, and a five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series. The inaugural Test match is slated to commence on July 12 at Windsor Park in Dominica
