In a significant development, India's legendary batter Virat Kohli has returned to the top five in the updated ICC rankings for ODI batters. The talismanic batter was rewarded with a massive boost in his ranking following his heroics in the high-voltage match against Pakistan.

Kohli Moves To Fifth; Gill, Babar Maintain Their Positions

Virat Kohli, who slammed a scintillating hundred against Pakistan, has progressed one place to number five. India's in-form opener Shubman Gill has been exceptional in the Champions Trophy, amassing 147 runs at a superb average. His remarkable consistency helped Gill to retain his top position in the ODI rankings for batters.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's experienced batter Babar Azam has maintained second place in the rankings despite his modest performances in the Champions Trophy. However, the difference between Gill and Babar's rating points has increased, with the former leading the latter by 47 points.

Other Significant Changes In ICC ODI Rankings

Ben Duckett (up 27 spots to 17th), Will Young (up eight places to 14th) and Rachin Ravindra (up 18 places to 24th) are among the biggest gainers after scoring sublime tons in the Champions Trophy.

Meanwhile, India's keeper-batter KL Rahul (up two spots to 15th) and South Africa's experienced cricketer Rassie van der Dussen (up three spots to 16th) also make significant strides.

On the bowling front, Michael Bracewell has made a giant leap of 31 spots to claim the 26th position. Kagiso Rabada (up four rungs to 16th), Matt Henry (up two spots to sixth) and Adam Zampa (up two places to 10th) have also made rapid gains by virtue of their impressive performances.
