On Thursday, Pakistan will lock horns with Bangladesh in their final group-stage match of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy. Led by Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan have already been knocked out of the competition, with India and New Zealand confirming their semifinal qualifications with two successive victories.

Babar Azam Aims To Shatter Miandad's Multiple Records

Meanwhile, Pakistan's premier batter Babar Azam is on the verge of surpassing legendary cricketer Javed Miandad in multiple batting milestones, as mentioned below.

1. Runs For Pakistan In ICC ODI Events

Regarded for his elegant batsmanship, Babar Azam is Pakistan's third most successful batter in ICC ODI tournaments. The Lahore-born cricketer has amassed 1014 runs at a superb average of 50.70 across 24 innings in ICC World Cup and Champions Trophy.

Meanwhile, Javed Miandad claims the second place with 1083 runs. So, if Babar scores 70 runs against Bangladesh, he will overtake Miandad on this list, topped by none other than Saeed Anwar.

2. Most fifties for Pakistan In ICC ODI events

Ace batter Babar Azam has struck eight half-centuries for Pakistan in ICC ODI events. He is only behind former captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who has nine fifties in World Cups and Champions Trophy combined.

Interestingly, Miandad also has eight half-centuries to his name. So, if Babar slams a fifty against Bangladesh, he will eclipse Miandad and register the joint-most fifties for Pakistan in ICC events.

3. Most 50+ scores for Pakistan in ICC ODI events

Saeed Anwar has the most runs as well as fifty-plus scores (9) for Pakistan in ICC ODI events. While Anwar has hammered five tons and four fifties, Babar and Miandad also have the same number of fifty-plus scores with one hundred and eight fifties each.

Pakistan's ex-captain Misbah-ul-Haq also has nine fifties in ICC ODI events. So, if Babar scores a fifty, he will be the first batter from Pakistan to register ten fifty-plus scores in World Cups and Champions Trophy
