Venues for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy knockouts revealed by BCCI

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed — Eden Gardens and Narendra Modi Stadium — as venues for the knockout stages of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) and Vijay Hazare Trophy, respectively. India's premier domestic T20 tournament will commence on October 11 and continue until November, while the 50-overs Vijay Hazare competition starts on November 12 and ends on December 2.

According to NDTVsports, Cities like Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, Punjab, and Jaipur will host league stages of SMAT, with Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Ranchi will organise league rounds of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Tamil Nadu are the reigning SMAT champions, while Himachal Pradesh are proud holders of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The board also confirmed that it will conduct two Irani cup games - one at the start and one during the end of the 2022-23 season.

According to PTI, 2020 Ranji winner Saurashtra will play the Rest of India (ROI) from October 1-5, while defending Ranji champions Madhya Pradesh host ROI in March next year.

This is also the first time since Covid-19, that the BCCI is holding a full-fledge domestic season.

The new season gets underway with the prestigious Duleep Trophy being held between September 8 and 25.  

The Ranji Trophy will again be played in the home-and-away format, beginning on December 12, and ending on February 20.
