The BCCI Women’s Selection Committee has named strong India Women’s squads for the upcoming T20I and ODI series in Australia. The squad for the one-off Test between the two sides will be unveiled at a latter date, as confirmed by the BCCI on their official website.
Senior batter and World Cup winning skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is set to continue as India Women’s captain, with fellow senior pro and prolific opening batter Smriti Mandhana named her deputy for the white-ball leg of the Australian tour.
India retains several World Cup 2025 members for tough Australian tour
On Saturday, January 17, i.e., roughly a month prior to India Women’s all-format tour of Australia, the BCCI women’s selection committee has unveiled India’s T20I and ODI squads.
Apart from captain Harmanpreet Kaur and her deputy Smriti Mandhana, the T20I team is composed of several other star attractions in the form of Shafali Verma, Renuka Thakur, middle-order batter Jemimah Rodrigues, ace spinner Shreyanka Patil, legendary all-rounder Deepti Sharma, blistering wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh among several others. Here is a look at India’s entire 16-player squad for the T20I series in Australia.

The BCCI selection committee also retained a number of India’s 2025 World Cup winning members for the ODI series against hosts Australia next month. Deepti Sharma, who won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award in the World Cup and Shafali Verma, who bagged the ‘Player of the Match’ award in the final, both easily made a cut into the national side alongside the likes of fast bowler Renuka Thakur, wicketkeepers Richa Ghosh and G Kamalini, middle-order star Harleen Deol and others.

India tour of Australia 2026
The India Women’s team is set to travel to Australia next month to play a series of three T20Is, three ODI matches and a one-off Test between February 15 and March 9. The tour will kick-off with the first T20I of the series at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The two teams will subsequently travel to Canberra on February 19 and Adelaide on February 21 for the remaining two 20-overs fixtures.
India and hosts Australia will then engage in a three-match ODI series between February 24 and March 1, with matches set to be hosted by Brisbane’s Allan Border Field (first ODI) and Hobart’s Bellerive Oval (second and third ODIs).
Notably, the series will mark the first meeting between India and Australia Women since their blockbuster semifinal showdown at the 2025 Women’s World Cup a couple of months ago.
