The ILT20 Season 3 is set to begin on January 11, 2025, and will run until February 9 in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. Ahead of the season, the six franchises have retained a total of 69 players, featuring some of the biggest names in T20 cricket.

Among the top retentions are Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, David Warner, Nicholas Pooran, and Mohammad Amir. 

Defending champions MI Emirates have retained key players such as captain Pooran, Dwayne Bravo, Akeal Hosein, Kieron Pollard, and Fazalhaq Farooqi. However, Trent Boult has not been retained.

The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have retained 11 players, including captain Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, David Willey, Charith Asalanka, and USA's Ali Khan and Andries Gous.

Desert Vipers have kept the likes of Mohammad Amir, Wanindu Hasaranga, Alex Hales, and Azam Khan, while fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Matheesha Pathirana are notable absentees.

Dubai Capitals have retained their captain David Warner, along with big names such as Rovman Powell, Sam Billings, and Jake Fraser-McGurk. However, England's Joe Root and Mark Wood were not retained.

Gulf Giants' retention list is headlined by Shimron Hetmyer and captain James Vince, while USA's Saurabh Netravalkar and Afghanistan's Mujeeb Ur Rehman did not make the list.

Sharjah Warriors have retained Kusal Mendis, captain Tom Kohler-Cadmore, and Johnson Charles among their eight players.

Each franchise has also retained two UAE players.

The player acquisition window is now open until September 15, allowing teams to sign new players. After the ILT20 development tournament in October, franchises must complete their quota of four UAE players.
