Tamil Nadu batter Shahrukh Khan, known for his power hitting with the bat, has thrown some hints of his desire to play a role with the ball in all formats of the game.

On the back of his form for Tamil Nadu, Shahrukh was selected as backup player for the Indian side as they took on West Indies in March.

Shahrukh Khan’s resurgence in the TNPL after a lackluster IPL

After a subdued IPL season, Shahrukh Khan was back in action in the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2022 and has led his side Lyca Kovai Kings into the playoffs of the state's premier franchise league for the second time in a row.

He has not been that superior as a batter but led the side much more with his bowling this season. Shahrukh ended the league stage as the fourth highest wicket taker, taking 10 wickets with his off spin.

On being asked about his bowling performance in the TNPL, Shahrukh said:

“I am definitely working more on my bowling in the last seven to eight months and am thankful that I can pull off games for my team,”

“When you have two skills, it is always an advantage (to get into the national side). But I am not thinking about only if I work on my bowling or only if I take wickets I will be there,”

“I just want to do what I do best, and wherever I am playing now, I want to do my best for the team now. The selection process matters later,” he added.
