We are just 12 days away from the start of a new era of Indian Test cricket under the leadership of Shubman Gill as India take on England for a five-match Test series. The Shubman Gill-led side will kickstart the campaign on June 20 when they square off in the first Test at Headingley. Also, the upcoming tour will be without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who announced their retirement from Test cricket recently.

The fans were upset with the move and passed a judgement that Test cricket would no longer attract the same viewership or fans to the stadium because of a lack of star power within the Indian team.

A Housefull Show In England For India Series

However, the latest reports from Revsportz mentioned that the fans are unfazed by the absence of Virat and Rohit in England and are buying tickets in big numbers. Further, the tickets for all five Test matches are nearly sold out, just a few tickets are available for day 4 at Headingley, Edgbaston.

“This is a welcome sign because the news of Virat and Rohit not coming could have impacted ticket sales. That they continue to be robust is a welcome sign for the format”, said a senior British scribe talking to Revsportz.

“Tickets aren’t cheap. And that’s the best part of it. People want to watch the Indians play and if they are competitive the limited tickets that are left will also get sold out”, said another journalist. “With Bazball you expect batting wickets and that’s where you are assured of crowds. India will also bat well and you will have a packed house in every venue”, he concluded.
