In a lighthearted moment on social media, Punjab Kings, IPL franchise, playfully teased Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi after India's thrilling victory over Australia in the final T20I on December 3. Punjab Kings celebrated the heroics of their young pacer Arshdeep Singh, who successfully defended nine runs in the final over.

Sharing a video of Arshdeep dismissing Matthew Wade, Punjab Kings captioned the post, "Not against this π₯𝐞𝐟𝐭-𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐫, Matthew Wade." The cheeky remark harked back to the T20 World Cup 2021 semi-final when Wade had dominated Afridi in the crucial moments of the match.

In the recent T20I series against Australia, Arshdeep Singh emerged as the hero, taking the crucial wicket of Wade in the final over. Despite Wade's previous success in finishing matches for Australia, Arshdeep held his nerve and conceded only three runs, securing India's victory and a 4-1 series win under Suryakumar Yadav's captaincy.

Arshdeep Singh, who had faced challenges earlier in the match, showcased resilience and character when entrusted with the final over. Reflecting on his performance, he mentioned, 

"I had nothing to lose. I gave away a lot of runs. At that time, I wanted to back my strengths."

His strategic approach, including starting with a bouncer, paid off, and the crucial wicket of Wade assured him that he had done the job.
