Match 21 of the Men's Hundred Competition witnessed Manchester Originals (MNS) securing a big victory against Northern Superchargers (NOS) at Headingley, Leeds.

Originals post highest-ever total of Men's Hundred

Superchargers decision to bowl first misfired, as the Originals had a sumptuous start. The makeshift opening pair of Phil Salt and Laurie Evans were impeccable with their ball-striking capabilities.

The duo added over 100 runs in a matter of seven overs. Salt hammered 55 off 25 balls, with the highlight being three successive sixes off Rashid Khan. On the other end, Evans (45 off 19) was equally destructive.

At number three came Tristan Stubbs, who slammed 46 off 23 balls. In the end, Paul Walter (26 off 12 ) further powered Originals to a total of 208 runs, which is the highest-ever total in the tournament's history.

Superchargers try well, but fall short

In response, Superchargers skipper Du Plessis (6) was dismissed early to Joshua Little, who was playing his first-ever fixture in this season. However, Adam Lyth continued his blistering form to steer the team at an expensive rate.

It was the magical over from Walter, who took the wickets of Lyth (46 off 25) and Harry Brook (0) in successive balls to put Superchargers on the backfoot.

In another twist in the tale, Adam Hose gradually upped the ante with his big shots, which certainly threatened the Originals. However, Walter was proficient to send him back to the hut for 59 off 27, laced with six fours and three sixes.

In the end, Originals won their second match of the season by 24 runs.

Brief Scores:

Manchester Originals- 208/5 (100b)
