Manchester Originals skipper Laurie Evans lauded the team's effort to secure the sixth victory on the trot in the Men's Hundred Competition. Their latest outing witnessed them winning the Eliminator against London Spirit by five wickets on Friday (2 September) at Southampton.
Following this victory, Originals booked a finale clash with Trent Rockets on Saturday at Lord's.
Batting first, Spirit posted 150 with the contributions of Ben McDermott (59) and Zak Crawley (36). For Originals, Paul Walter was the pick of the bowlers with three scalps.
In response, Evans and Phil Salt continued their blistering form and accumulated runs at an expensive rate. Evans delivered a 34-ball 72, while Salt scored 29 off 18, and the pair added 101 runs in 46 balls, and ultimately the team chased down the total with 11 balls to spare.
In a post-match presentation, Salt felt reckoned that the secret to their success has been different players stepping up at different times.
