Afghanistan will be facing Sri Lanka in their Super Four match in Sharjah during the Asia Cup 2022. The team will have momentum on their side on Saturday as in their last game against Sri Lanka, Afghanistan chased the target of 106 runs within 10.1 overs to score a victory by eight wickets.
Notably, Sri Lanka became the second Group B team from Afghanistan to qualify for the Super Four on Thursday. They defeated Bangladesh by two wickets to proceed further in the league. Meanwhile, the Afghanistan cricket team isn’t concerned about their opponent.
Gurbaz not concerned about their opponent
Speaking in the pre-match press conference, Rahmanullah Gurbaz clarified that for them it doesn’t matter if they are playing against Bangladesh or India. The opening batter claimed that Afghans are only focusing on playing a good brand of cricket with positive intent. The team is working hard on its strengths and weaknesses to be its best version.
Afghanistan have always been considered a strong batting side with the likes of Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi in their team. The bowlers again lived up to their reputation as they restricted Sri Lanka at 105 while Bangladesh also ended up with just 127 runs.
