St Kitts & Nevis Patriots will lock horns against Trinbago Knight Riders in Match 5 of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022 on Sunday, September 4th at Warner Park.

Both the teams have faced each other six times at this venue and the Knight Riders lead the record with four wins.

The Patriots had a very poor start to the tournament, having lost both the games they played. The defending champions fell apart in all the departments in the first two matches and were comfortably beaten on both occasions. As a result they are sitting at the bottom of the table with zero points and will be hoping to open their account in the match against TKR.

Meanwhile, Trinbago Knight Riders, on the other hand, started their season with a win. They had a similar batting display against the St Lucia Kings in their season opener. 

However, they had a relatively better performance in the bowling department, which helped the Knights Riders to restrict the Kings to a meagre total. Kieron Pollard and his men will be expecting a better outing with the bat in the upcoming matches and continue their winning form going forward to the long season.

Akeal Hosein: The left-arm spinner picked up his career best 4/13 in the last match against St Lucia.

Andre Russell: The hard-hitting all-rounder scored a 24-ball 72 against St Kitts in the recently concluded Sixty tournament.

Andre Fletcher: Fletcher is currently the highest run-scorer in the CPL with 112 runs and the highest score of 81 which he scored in the last game against the Royals.

Pitch Report

The pitch was not easy to bat in the last two games.  The average first innings score is around 155. There was help from the wicket for both pacers and spinners. Interestingly, it shows contrasting behaviors at times and can give us a high scoring contest this time. 

However, the team winning the toss should be bowling first as the pitch doesn’t change much throughout the game.
