Young cricketer Swastik Chikara, who is playing his first IPL season with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), seems to be enjoying his time in the camp. He looks up to Virat Kohli like a big brother and loves staying close to him.
But it looks like Virat is starting to get a little annoyed in a funny way, though. In a recent RCB video, Kohli said that Swastik just won’t leave him alone in the dressing room.
Swastik hasn't played any matches yet this season, but he made quite an impression in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League earlier. He’s from Ghaziabad and has previously been part of the Delhi Capitals team.
RCB’s Virat Kohli Teases Swastik Chikara
During a fun segment, Virat was asked who he would or wouldn’t want as a roommate from the RCB squad. Kohli quickly said, "I wouldn't say it's Swastik Chikara. Because he doesn't leave me alone, so, definitely not him," he laughed.
However, Virat did mention someone he’d like to know better, wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma.
He added, “ I would want to see that really fun, raw side of him because I can see it in his eyes, he's got that mischief about him. He's very street smart, you can see on the field, he finds different ways of looking at things. So, I would like to get to know him more.”
Jitesh Sharma has been around T20 cricket for a while and is doing great for RCB this season. The team bought him for a huge ₹11 crore in the IPL auction.
As for Kohli himself, he’s having another fantastic season. He’s scored 443 runs in 10 matches at an average of 63.28 and a strike rate of 138.87. He’s currently the second-highest run-scorer in the league, just behind GT’s Sai Sudharsan who has 456 runs.
RCB are sitting on top of the points table with seven wins out of ten games. Their next big clash is against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
