On Thursday, June 27, South African scripted history as they reached their first ever final in an ICC tournament after they beat Afghanistan in the first semi-finals of the ongoing T20 World Cup in West Indies & USA.
Afghanistan, won the toss and elected to bat first. Their decision backfired as they failed to play Protean seamers. Afghanistan tumbled for just 56 runs. In reply, South Africa chased down the over in just 8.5 overs.
In the latest events, senior sports journalist, Abhishek Tripathi, took to Twitter to reveal that South Africa are stranded at the Port of Spain airport for six hours and yet to reach Barbados which will host the final on June 29.

Tripathi reported that a small plane crashed at the Barbados airport following which the flights were halted.
The Grantley Adams airport in Barbados was closed for inspections by the Civil Aviation Authority and the Barbados Police Service following a landing failure of a small private aircraft. As a result, not just South African team, but their families, commentators, match officials, and ICC officials are also stranded at the Trinidad airport.
South Africa will face the winner of India-England match on June 29 at the Kensington Oval at Barbados.
