Tentative dates for ICC T20 World Cup 2024 revealed

Following the conclusion of the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, the next big-ticket ICC event is next year’s T20 World Cup 2024, set to be played across West Indies and United States. The much-awaited tournament will kick off with a match on June 3 while the final will be played on June 30, thus making it one of the longest-running T20 World Cups to date, excluding the opening qualifying stage.

As many as 20 nations will be participating in the grand event, where five teams will be divided into four different groups. The top two sides from each group will be advancing to the Super Eight stage of the tournament, where the teams will be further split into two groups of four each.

The Super Eight stage will be succeeded by the knockouts, consisting of two semi-finals and a final.

England will enter the competition with their defending champions tag, considering they lifted the 2022 trophy in Australia by defeating Pakistan in a hard-fought title clash.
