Despite being just a few months away, Pakistan's participation in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, scheduled in India, continues to remain unsure. As reported by Cricbuzz, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will have a high-profile meeting with the government-set panel on Thursday to decide if they will travel to India between October 5 and November 19.

The 14-member committee is headed by foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto, which also includes Sports Minister Ahsan Mazari, Maryam Aurangzeb, Asad Mahmood, Amin ul Haq, Qamar Zaman Kaira, and Tariq Fatmi.

It is being speculated that the panel is not against Pakistan visiting India but will advise PCB to have a security check before permitting travel.

Here's what PCB official said

"A high-profile meeting will decide on the World Cup participation."

The Bhutto-led panel is expected to ask the International Cricket Council and hosts Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to permit PCB security experts to visit Pakistan's proposed venues. The meeting between PCB and the panel is due to take place on Thursday.

Pakistan last toured India during ICC T20 World Cup 2016 and played against the hosts at Eden Gardens.
