After an unfortunate injury to Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) pacer Jaydev Unadkat that ruled him out of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the franchise has announced the replacement for the remainder of the tournament. Mumbai's 20-year-old all-rounder Suryansh Shedge has been approved by the BCCI Technical Committee to participate for the Lucknow-based side.

The youngster has been signed up for his base price of ₹20 Lakhs with LSG having just one game remaining in the group stage as they aim to qualify for the playoffs.

Unadkat, who recently made a comeback in the Indian Test setup was included in the World Test Championship Final too but is likely to be ruled out. In the IPL this season, he featured in three matches where he was unable to bag any wicket.

The left-armer pacer suffered the injury after falling in his follow-through while bowling in the practice net session.

On the other hand, Suryansh is a promising all-rounder who once came to reckoning seven years back after thumping 326 off 137 deliveries, which was the fastest triple century of the Giles Shield tournament, a local tournament in Mumbai.

Currently at third place with 15 points, Lucknow will be playing their game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 20th May at Eden Gardens.
