Suryakumar Yadav Fined, Hrithik Shokeen And Nitish Rana Slapped With Penalties

It was a fiery altercation between Mumbai Indians (MI) Hrithik Shokeen and Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) skipper Nitish Rana when the latter dismissed the left-hander in the ninth over of the first innings and gave a send-off. This didn't go down well with the KKR captain as he fought back with aggression to counter the youngster.

However, a few hours after the game, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) levied penalties on the individuals in accordance with the laws and code of conduct of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In the media release, it was stated that Nitish Rana has been charged 25 per cent of his match fees whereas Shokeen was handed 10 per cent deduction in his fees.

Both the cricketers admitted to level 1 offence of Article 2.21 and Article 2.5 of league's code of conduct, respectively.

Moreover, Mumbai's stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav who stood in place of Rohit Sharma has also come under the radar of the match referee for being two overs short in accordance minimum over-rate offences and has been asked to pay ₹12 Lakhs fine.

Coming to the match, Venkatesh Iyer left everyone awestruck with his maiden IPL century, but in return, Mumbai's Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav played fighting innings to take their side home.
