GT vs RR| Shubman Gill  Injured; Walks off the Field

Shubman Gill has in stellar form over the last year or so and has shown tremendous consistency in the IPL 2023 as well. In the GT-RR game too, he played a sparkling knock of 45 off 34 balls and played a big role in his team posting a competitive total.

However, the young man and GT's mainstay hurt his fingers while attempting a catch in the final delivery of a fifth over. Shami was the bowler and Padikkal tried to slash away a shortish wide delivery. Padikkal though managed to get only an outside edge that flew to first slip but Gill was late to react and ended up dropping the catch and on the way hurting his fingers too.

Gill was seen in lot of pain after that blow and eventually decided to walk off the field after physio's on-field treatment.

It remains to be seen how serious his injury is, and GT fans as well as Indian fans would be hoping that it is just a minor injury and he gets back to doing what he does best - Delivering quality performances on the cricket field. However, if he does get injured for a long time it will be a big blow for GT, as they have already lost Kane Williamson in the opening game of the competition.
