Suryakumar Yadav has backed youngsters to deliver the goods against the Bangladesh side in the upcoming T20I series. Surya, particularly praised Mayank Yadav, who created havoc in IPL 2024 and was fast-tracked by the BCCI.

The LSG young gun, Mayank, played just 4 games for the franchise, but created such an impact that the selectors took a bold call to include him in the squad for the upcoming T20I series. Numerous times he breached the 150 km/h mqrk in IPL and rattled the opposition with sheer pace.

He clocked the fastest delivery of the IPL season, with a speed of 156.7 km/h, and skipper Surya believes Mayank has the X-factor which the Indian team requires at the international level. Speaking in the pre-game press conference, SKY lavished praise for the LSG star.

"He definitely has the X factor - it was evident when he played franchise cricket," Suryakumar said ahead of the first T20I against Bangladesh in Gwalior. "He has that extra pace. I didn't face him in the nets; our net plan was such that someone else faced him.

But I have seen what potential he has and what difference he can make for the team. From that point of view, I feel he is a good addition to the Indian team and I am hoping he will do well."

Team India fast-tracking Mayank for Tests as well

Team India have an excellent bowling attack in the Tests, however, the selectors are looking at someone like Mayank Yadav, who can bamboozle the opposition with sheer pace.

As per reports, selectors wanted to pick him in the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia, however, his recent injury record went against him. Though, the India call-up for the Bangladesh Tests shows that the selectors and coach Gautam Gambhir still have faith in the youngster, who has carved a name for himself in a short amount of time.
