Super Kings reveal name and logo for CSA T20 League

Chennai Super Kings' sister franchise in South Africa's newest T20 league will be called Joburg Super Kings, was revealed along with the logo by the brand in a live session conducted over Twitter which featured CSK's CEO Kasi Viswanathan, CSA T20 league director Graeme Smith, broadcaster Mark Nicholas, newly appointed captain Faf du Plessis, head coach Stephen Fleming, CEO of Wanderers Jono Leaf-Wright.

Faf du Plessis, who has reunited with his former franchise, commented on the homecoming. 

"It's good to be back with the Super Kings, I've always enjoyed my time with the franchise, and it will be a different experience to represent the franchise this time in my home nation. I'm looking ahead to make some good memories."

Graeme Smith, SA20 league director, who was also present during the event, mentioned that the game in South Africa would be immensely benefited by Super Kings' involvement in the competition. He said,

"That is definitely going to help us grow the league both with the reach and financially. They are a massive franchise with reach all across the globe. We are happy to have them as well as the other five teams."

Smith also emphasized how this league will help in the development of cricket in the African nation. He mentioned that this help to promote the game at grassroots levels, not just financially. He added that the way this is happening, we want people to not just talk about the top three nations but consider others as well, with the league and the recent developments, SA is back at the top.
