Sodhi and Hatzoglou sign up as replacement players in The Hundred
Peter Hatzoglou will turn up for Oval Invincibles in the Hundred
Kiwi spinner Ish Sodhi has penned the deal with Welsh fire as a replacement for Adam Zampa in the Hundred. The Aussie spinner will be leaving for the Zimbabwe series, where he would play a crucial role for his side. His joining date has not been confirmed until now.
Conversely, Sunil Narine will leave early to participate in the Caribbean Premier League for Trinbago Knight Riders. Meanwhile, his side Oval Invincibles has already signed Australian leg-spinner Peter Hatzoglou as his substitute, who will unite with his side on Aug 27.
Hatzoglou has represented Melbourne Renegades and Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League, scalping a total of 32 wickets in the two seasons he has played so far. His performance was one essential clog in Perth clinching the 2022/23 championship title.
Sodhi has performed well in the T20 circuit with more than 230 wickets across various T20 leagues, including the IPL for Rajasthan Royals. The 29-year-old has also donned the jersey for Worcestershire Rapids and Nottinghamshire Outlaws in the T20 Blast demonstrating his expertise in the British territory.
Elsewhere, England's Harry Brook will be available for his side Northern Superchargers in the Hundred for the 19th August game against Birmingham Phoenix after being released from Test Squad against South Africa.
