[Watch] Shah Rukh Khan Kicks Off ICC CWC Campaign With Trademark SRK Charm

In a major marketing win, the International Cricket Council (ICC) have managed to rope in Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan to kick off its upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign named 'It Takes One Day'. 

The CWC 2023 will be held in India between October 5 and November 19, featuring 10 nations eye world glory.  Khan also known as SRK, is known for his long-time admiration for cricket and was present cheering India during the inaugural ICC World T20 Final in 2007, apart from being the co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

In the video released by ICC, former South Africa batters Jean Paul Duminy and Jonty Rhodes, former World Cup-winning England captain Eoin Morgan, former Sri Lanka off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, and current Team India players Dinesh Karthik, Jemimah Rodrigues and Shubman Gill can also be seen. 

The video showcases montage from all the earlier editions of the WC, which began back in 1975.

The campaign will showcase nine emotions 'Navarasa' - anguish, bravery, glory, joy, passion, power, pride, respect, and wonder - that a cricketer goes through in one day. 

ICC CEO Geoff Allardice and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah expressed his delight over the the marriage of cinema and cricket with SRK as the leading face.
