When he is not crunching cover drives or captaining Gujarat Titans, Shubman Gill is quietly making moves off the field. This time, he has knocked it out of the park in the real world with a noble gesture.
Gill Steps Up Off The Field With INR 35 Lakh Donation To Mohali Hospital
In a heartwarming gesture, Shubman Gill has donated medical equipment worth INR 35 lakh to the Civil Hospital in Phase-VI, Mohali. We are talking big-ticket stuff here: ventilators, ICU beds, OT tables, X-ray machines, bedside monitors and even OT lights. Basically, everything a hospital needs.
The move comes under his Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and it is safe to say, he is leading by example both on and off the pitch.
This is not just any hospital for Gill. Mohali is where it all began for the young opener. From a schoolboy smashing balls in Phase-10 nets to donning the India blue, the city has been part of his grind from day one.
Now, he is giving back to the very place that shaped his cricketing dreams. He is even building a home in Mohali so the connection is not just emotional, it is personal too.
Interestingly, Gill’s aunt, Dr. Kushaldeep Kaur, who is the District Immunisation Officer in Patiala was present during the handover. No big ceremonies, no mics or cameras, just a good deed done quietly and sincerely. That is Gill for you!
Dr. Sangeeta Jain, the Civil Surgeon, said that the donated equipment will be assessed and distributed where it is needed most, even to other hospitals if required.
Gill’s GT Secure First Win of IPL 2025
After two matches this season, the Titans sit on one win and one loss with a solid 36-run win over Mumbai Indians in their last match. Up next? A big clash awaits against RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday, April 2. Gill’s men will aim to keep the winning momentum going and secure another victory.
