Expect the unexpected when Shardul Thakur, or should I say Lord Shardul is playing. When everything was done and dusted for Kolkata Knight Riders, Shardul showed the light and played one of the innings of the tournament so far.

In the ongoing match between KKR and RCB, the Faf du Plessis led side had the momentum when they got rid off Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Andre Russell in quick succession.

However, the tides turned when Shardul Thakur decided to take the matters in his own hands. The all-rounder came in when KKR were tottering at 89 for 5, and needed a spark in the innings. Shardul attacked from the word go and took a special liking towards Akash Deep and Michael Bracewell.

He smacked two fours and a six in the 13th over and came back to haunt RCB once again, when he took the attack to Bracewell and hammered him for two sixes in the 15th over.

Earlier in the innings, Rahmanullah Gurbaz showed his batting prowess and slammed his maiden IPL fifty to give some much needed momentum to the KKR innings.

At the time of writing, KKR are 152 for 5 inside 17 overs.
