In a significant development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced formidable squads for the upcoming West Indies tour. The return of ace speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi is a major highlight of the selection.
Shaheen Afridi Back In T20Is; Babar Azam Kept In ODI Squad
As expected, Agha Salman has been chosen as the T20I captain, with Mohammad Rizwan leading the Pakistan side in ODIs. The T20I squad witnesses the comeback of Shaheen Afridi, who didn't play the recently concluded series against Bangladesh.
While Shaheen's return strengthens Pakistan's T20I team, veteran batter Babar Azam continues to remain on the sidelines as far as the shortest format is concerned. Experienced fast bowlers Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali have also been included in the T20I squad, while Naseem Shah has only made it into the ODI team.
Among others, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Nawaz, Sahibzada Farhan and Mohammad Nawaz are several familiar faces in the T20I squad. Meanwhile, opening batter Abdullah Shafique has been kept only in the ODI team.
Despite their impressive performance against Bangladesh, Salman Mirza and Ahmed Daniyal have been left out of the T20I squad.
