In a significant development, Pakistan's premier pacer Shaheen Afridi has made himself available for the upcoming two-match series against Bangladesh.

According to Pakistan's leading media agency Geo Super, the left-arm pacer has informed the PCB about his availability for the high-voltage Test series next month.

Shaheen makes himself available for Bangladesh Tests

After Pakistan's disastrous T20 World Cup outing in the Caribbean and United States, Shaheen received massive backlash for his alleged involvement in lobbying and misbehaving

Several reputed media outlets also accused him of verbal altercation with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf during Pakistan's UK tour prior to the World Cup.

Amid the controversy, a few reports claimed that the speedster might face serious consequences as the PCB would drop him for the Bangladesh home series.

However, amid all the speculations, the experienced seamer has showed his eagerness to participate in the series, making himself available for selection.

Shaheen's recent topsy-turvy journey

After Babar Azam resigned from captaincy, Shaheen succeeded him in the T20I format. However, he suffered a massive setback in his maiden assignment, with Pakistan losing the New Zealand away series by 4-1.

A failed captaincy stint with Lahore Qalandars in PSL 2024 didn't help his cause either, with Babar being reappointed as Pakistan's white-ball skipper just before the World Cup.

As per the latest update, Shan Masood will continue as Pakistan's Test skipper, while the PCB will soon take a final call on Babar's captaincy future.
