In latest developments, reports suggest that Afghanistan's star all-rounder, Rashid Khan will unfortunately be missing the highly-anticipated first Test against Zimbabwe. The Test slated to take place on Thursday, 26 December will miss the usual energy and zeal of the Afghani star.
As revealed, Rashid is set to miss the game due to personal reasons. As per the reports, the 26-year-old will be attending a charity event, and as a result, will not be available for the first game. This will a big setback from Afghanistan's perspective especially since Rashid is a key player for the visiting team.
On a side note, Zimbabwe is set to host a historic Boxing Day Test against Afghanistan in Bulawayo after 28 years. The two-match series kicks off at Queens Sports Club on December 26. Zimbabwe, led by Craig Ervine, features experienced players like Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams, alongside debutants Ben Curran and potentially Tadiwanashe Marumani.
Afghanistan, despite losing star all-rounder Rashid Khan, remains strong, with Hashmatullah Shahidi leading a balanced squad. Newcomers Sediqullah Atal and Ismat Alam are expected to feature, with Alam having an impressive domestic season. Afghanistan enters as favourites, though Zimbabwe's young talent promises an exciting contest.
