IND vs AUS: What Happened When They Last Played A Test?

The previous Test meeting between India and Australia occurred just a couple of weeks ago at The Gabba in Brisbane. While Australia largely dominated the proceedings, the match turned out to be a rain-marred draw. The hosts mounted 445 in the first innings courtesy of a splendid 152 from Travis Head, and a regal ton from serial century-maker Steve Smith. Jasprit Bumrah picked up six wickets in the innings for Team India at an expense of just 76 runs.

The visitors responded with just 260 in their first innings to fall 185 runs short at the halfway stage of the match, with Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc themselves accounting for seven of the 10 fallen wickets. After India’s batting collapse, Bumrah led his team’s spirited fightback with a scintillating three-fer in the second innings to reduce Australia to just 89-7 before umpires called off play on Day 5.
