Along with the World Cup 2023, the domestic season of Indian cricket is also taking up the heat. As we are into the latter stage of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023, Uttar Pradesh and Assam have made it to the quarterfinals after knocking out Gujarat and Bengal in the pre-quarterfinals respectively. Riyan Parag, who has been impressive so far, performed a gesture which has become a hot topic among cricket fans.

Riyan Parag with his blistering knocks, is having a great time this year. Although he was being criticised for his poor run at the Indian Premier League 2023, he is slamming the critics continuing his dream run in the shortest format now.

Here's how people are reacting to Riyan Parag's 'Level' gesture:

There have been some issues with the aggression of Riyan Parag and it is evident from a few occasions where his on-field attitude was not appropriate as per the standards of the game. Now his recent gesture against Bengal has caught the attention of the netizens and he is being harshly criticised for it.

After playing a match-winning knock of 50 off just 31 deliveries, his actions in the gesture showed that he was trying to say that the other players on the field are nothing against him. Some people believe that he did that gesture as the commentator referred to Assam players as the 'second-class', while others believe that he did that on purpose.

There's no doubt that Riyan Parag has done amazing things contributing with both bat and ball, taking the Assam team all the way to the quarterfinals. But cricket being a gentleman's game, this kind of action always hurts the sentiments of the fans and it looks like the players do not respect the spirit of the game.
