SCO vs NZ 2022 | Scotland coach embraces New Zealand challenge ahead of series

New Zealand’s European tour will continue with a trip to Scotland for two T20Is and an ODI match. The three matches will be played at The Grange Club in Edinburgh between July 27 and July 31.

Ahead of the series, Scotland coach Shane Burger said that his side is “excited” about the challenges they will be facing this week. Expressing his confidence to do well, he said:

“New Zealand are always a tough team to beat in any format of the game and I really respect the culture they have built up in their team over the last four or five years, I am a huge fan of the way they go about their business.”

“We are going to go into the series full of confidence and we want to play a brand of cricket that everyone who comes to watch will enjoy. For our players these are the types of games that they dream of playing in and I know that they are feeling good and are up for the challenge”, he added.

Recently, Cricket Scotland announced their 18-player squad for the home series. Richie Berrington will be leading the show for the hosts in both formats while outbound Kyle Coetzer will only be available for the one-off ODI.

The cricket board added Michael Jones, Oliver Hairs and Craig Wallace to Scotland’s 15-player line-up that participated in the Cricket World Cup League 2 fixtures earlier this month.
