Rivalries and social media banter have always been a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL). But this season, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) making a remarkable run to the IPL 2025 finals has started a bizarre online criticism on social media. Fans and anti-RCB supporters have started commenting "Save Humanity, Don’t Let RCB Win."

RCB, often dubbed the unluckiest team in the league’s history, has finally broken their nine-year-long finals drought. The Bengaluru-based franchise became the first team to book their place in the IPL 2025 final after a clinical win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Qualifier. Yet, amid the celebrations from RCB's loyal fan base, a curious wave of trolling has emerged across 'X' (formerly Twitter), with many fans posting cryptic and hilarious messages praying for the team’s loss in the final.

The phrase "Save Humanity" has become a viral catch-phrase on 'X'. With memes, posters, and posts rooting for any team to win but RCB is trending on social media. Many posts are also targeting Virat Kohli along with his franchise. 

Interestingly, most of these posts are directly mocking RCB and its fan base. From supporting unlikely rival teams to writing funny posts, fans of other franchises have united to ensure  RCB does not finally lift the elusive trophy.

RCB's Road To Redemption

RCB’s performance in the 2025 season has been nothing short of spectacular. Under Rajat Patidar's leadership and inspired performances across bowling departments, the 'Bold Army' stormed past the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1 to book their spot in the Final. 

The second finalist will be decided on Sunday, June 1, when PBKS get another shot at the title as they face MI in Qualifier 2.
