According to the emerging reports, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings are at loggerheads regarding the trade of Sanju Samson. While the Super Kings desperately want RR skipper Sanju Samson to ensure balance in their team ahead of the 2026 season, the Royals have demanded three key players in return from the five-time champions.

RR Ask CSK To Give 3 Players In Exchange For Samson

Soon after the conclusion of IPL 2025, several media reports claimed that RR captain Sanju Samson could leave the franchise ahead of the next season. The backstory of the development eventually surfaced, with Cricbuzz confirming Samson's interest in leaving the Royals camp and joining a new team before the 2026 edition of the tournament.

It was reported that the Royals didn't want an all-cash trade, being interested in roping some impactful players instead. Now, in its exclusive report, Cricbuzz has stated that the Royals have demanded CSK's three core players- Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube- in exchange for Samson.

In a post on its official handle on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Cricbuzz broke the news, revealing that CSK aren't interested in executing such a ground-breaking deal that could shake up their entire combination.

The report also states that RR have also approached multiple franchises regarding the trade deal. The fact that Samson wants to break his long-standing cricketing ties with the Royals has prompted the inaugural IPL champions to consider releasing him, either through a trade or the mini-auction, before the next season.

It hasn't been revealed who the franchise will announce as Samson's captaincy successor if he bids adieu to the team. In such a scenario, it's assumed that the Royals could appoint either Riyan Parag or Yashasvi Jaiswal as their skipper going forward.
