Sachin Tendulkar inaugurated a board room named after him at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters in Mumbai. The former Indian cricketer thanked the BCCI officials present at the ceremony, and recalled some of the best moments of his international journey in a sterling speech.

Notably, Tendulkar was inaugurated with the room, named SRT 100, just a day after fellow Mumbai legend Rohit Sharma was inaugurated with a stand named after him at the Wankhede Stadium.

On Saturday, May 17, Sachin Tendulkar inaugurated a special board room named after him at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. He was accompanied by several BCCI administrators like Roger Binny (Honorary President), Rajeev Shukla (Honorary Vice President), Devajit Saikia (Honorary Secretary) and Rohan Dessai (Honorary Joint Secretary).

In a sterling speech, Tendulkar recalled his debut tour of Pakistan back in 1989, and stated that the 1983 World Cup winning moment prompted him to represent India in international cricket.

Sachin Tendulkar also said that lifting the 2011 World Cup in front of his home crowd at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai remains the biggest achievement of his career.

The name ‘SRT 100’ can be attributed to the number of international centuries he scored in his career across all formats. With 51 Test tons and 49 ODI centuries, Tendulkar remains the highest century-maker in international cricket by a landslide. Moreover, he is also the leading run-maker in the history of the game with over 34,000 runs.
