Derbyshire vs Glamorgan

In a 47-overs-per-side game, defending champions Glamorgan ease past hosts Derbyshire with more than half of their overs still intact. For starters, the Australia-born Dutch speedster Timm van der Gugten claimed 4-41 off his spell, as he helped his side dismantle the hosts for just 110.

In response, the Glamorgan top four batted for just 21.5 overs to mark their first win of the season.

Brief scores:

Derbyshire: 110 (30)
Mattie McKiernan 43 (57), Tom Wood 18 (23)
Timm van der Gugten 4-41, Jamie Mcllroy 2-13

Glamorgan: 112-2 (21.5)
Kiran Carlson 54* (53), Colin Ingram 30* (35)
Ben Aitchison 1-14, Sam Conners 1-19

Glamorgan won by 8 wickets

Lancashire vs Essex

The second Group B match between Essex and hosts Lancashire turned out to be a damp squib affair at Sedbergh. Constant downpour at the venue made sure that both sides went home with a point each.

Worcestershire vs Kent

Hosts Worcestershire rose to 351-8 off their 50 overs, despite losing opener Ed Pollock for a golden duck. Kashif Ali, on his List A debut, scaled a ton to top-score for his side in the innings. The two Matts from Kent, Henry and Quinn, claimed three wickets each in a combined spell of 18 overs.

In response, Kent opener Ollie Robinson hammered an unbeaten 206 to mark his maiden List A century. His 131-ball stay at the crease was glittered with 27 boundaries and six maximums. Opener Ben Compton also threw 75 punches in the run-chase as the duo consigned Worcestershire to their opening defeat of the season.

Brief scores:

Worcestershire: 351-8 (50)
Kashif Ali 114 (99), Ed Barnard 79 (85)
Matt Henry 3-56, Matt Quinn 3-64

Kent: 353-3 (44.5)
Ollie Robinson 206* (131), Ben Compton 75 (74)
Brett D’Oliveira 1-37, Ben Gibbon 1-52

Yorkshire vs Northamptonshire

In a rain-affected game, Yorkshire openers Will Fraine and Harry Duke caned the Northamptonshire bowlers throughout their 209-run first-wicket stand. The two cricketers faced 107 deliveries each, and delighted everyone with their boundary-laden centuries as their side amassed 353-3 in 46 overs.

The Northamptonshire’s response in the run-chase was suave, but not enough to save the day as they fell short of their target by 33 runs. Rebellious half-centuries from captain Will Young, Lewis McManus and Rob Keogh were outclassed by a three-fer from Yorkshire’s spin-machine Dom Bess.

Brief scores:

Yorkshire: 353-5 (46)
Will Fraine 143 (107), Harry Duke 111 (107)
Nathan Buck 2-66, Jack White 1-54

Northamptonshire: 320 (44.2)
Will Young 91 (64), Lewis McManus 82 (62)
Dom Bess 3-63, Tom Loten 2-37

Yorkshire won by 33 runs (DLS method)
