Gloucestershire vs Warwickshire

Gloucestershire hosted Warwickshire at Cheltenham to mark the opening Group A game of the Royal One-Day Cup 2022 season. Put into bat, the Gloucs charted 264 off the back of crafty half-centuries by Ben Wells and Zafar Gohar.

In response, the visiting Warwickshire batters took just 38.4 overs to overhaul their target. Opener Dom Sibley cracked an unbeaten ton as the Will Rhodes-led side registered their opening points of the season.

Nottinghamshire vs Sussex

Hosts Nottinghamshire mounted a competitive 290-7 off their 50 overs. Matthew Montgomery top-scored with a fluent 87 while Liam Patterson-White provided finishing touches to the innings, clubbing a 46-ball 62*.

Sussex’ response got off to an unsteady start. The 85-run sixth-wicket partnership between Tom Alsop and Danial Ibrahim was sandwiched between two batting collapses, as the visitors crumbled to just 225 all out within 50 overs.

Surrey vs Leicestershire

Surrey, fielding four List-A debutants, managed just 246-8 after being asked to bat first. Leicestershire’s South African import Beuran Hendricks wrecked the hosts batting line-up with a four-fer, all while conceding just 39 runs off his 10 overs.

The Leicestershire batters consumed just 40 overs to tally their opening Group A points, with opener Nick Welch punching out an unbeaten 127.  Wiaan Mulder also charted a rapid 71* to guide his side past the finishing line.
