Roman Walker opens up on his partnership with Rishabh Pant during the warm-up against India

Right-arm-medium pacer Roman Walker is one such player whose name has been etched in the memory of the cricket fans. The 21-year-old delivered exemplary performance against India while playing for Leicestershire in the warm-up match to make a name for himself.

In the first innings, Walked picked up five wickets, including those of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hanuma Vihari, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur. He also impressed with the bat, playing an impressive knock of 34 runs off 46 balls. His knock was laced with seven boundaries at a strike rate of 59.65.

During the practice game, Walker had the privilege to bat alongside Rishabh Pant in the middle. As India are preparing for their one-off Test match against England, starting from July 1st, players like Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and Cheteshwar Pujara represented the Leicestershire team against their compatriots.

In the second innings, Leicestershire were chasing a total of 246 runs posted by India. The team looked in trouble as they lost six wickets within 33.5 overs at a score of 138. However, in time of distress, Roman Walker stepped up to stitch a 70-run partnership with the Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant.

The 70-run partnership was instrumental for Leicestershire as they reached a total of 244 runs in 57 overs.

Walker enjoyed his partnership with Pant and revealed that the Indian keeper is fun to work with as he is always in a good mood.

"It was great, Pant has been great with our boys. He is great fun to bat with. He smiles whenever he plays a rogue shot. If he gets away with it, he laughs, if he doesn't, he laughs. It's a great thing to learn from the other end. Just talking to him about options, how to play different bowlers, very valuable," Walker said while speaking to Leicestershire media, as quoted by Hindustan Times.
