Rohit Sharma, the man who has taken MI to five IPL titles has been under the pump as far as his batting is concern for a long time now in IPL. His last IPL fifty came in the 2021 season as he could not score even a single fifty in the 2022 season. He only scored 268 runs in the 2022 season but has managed to start IPL 2023 on a better note with a half-century against DC in MI's third game of the season.

He smashed his fifty in just 29 balls and has kept his team well on course in their bid to chase down a tricky target of 173. At the time of writing, MI are 100-1 in the 12th over and it is important for MI that their skipper bats for as long as possible in the run-chase.

Interestingly, this is Rohit’s first fifty in 24 innings, and the MI skipper is looking as determined as ever to take his team over the line. Rohit Sharma, who is close to 6,000 IPL runs now, last scored over 400 runs in the IPL in the 2019 season.
