According to latest reports, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma could potentially miss the upcoming match of the ICC Champions Trophy against New Zealand on 2 March, Sunday. It has been understood that Rohit Sharma missed the net practice on Wednesday as he was not seen participating with the rest of the squad who participated in warm-ups like football and running at the ICC Academy. The charismatic leader refrained from any strenuous activity. 

Rohit's Injury Woes

Earlier, Rohit unfortunately suffered a hamstring injury during the game against Pakistan but had brushed aside any concerns during the post-match presentation. According to the report, the 37-year-old batter was seen jogging lightly under the close watch of India's Strength & Conditioning coach Soham Desai.

His movements seemed restricted, raising eyebrows over a possible injury. The report by Times Of India further stated that Rohit did not take part in any throw-downs and only shadow batted.

Rohit Sharma Led India Qualifies For Semi-Finals

The Indian men’s cricket team will play in the first semi-final in Dubai on March 4 thanks to the excellent leadership skills of Rohit Sharma along with some thrilling performances by the players. 

While fans eagerly await to know more about the update on his fitness. If at all Rohit, does miss the match, there are chances that KL Rahul would open alongside Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant would fill in his shoes in the middle order.
