Rohit Sharma is known for his calm and fun personality, and he once again showed his playful side after Mumbai Indians’ final league match against Punjab Kings on May 27 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Rohit Sharma Imitates Shreyas Iyer
After the match, Rohit was spotted joking around with Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer. In a video posted by Mumbai Indians on their official social media, Rohit was seen copying the way Iyer walks, smiling as he did so. The post was humorously captioned “Shana Ro.”
Notably, Rohit and Iyer have a good relationship on and off the field. They’ve played together for Team India and also in Mumbai’s domestic cricket team. Rohit Sharma is often seen mimicking Shreyas Iyer during the matches and this moment is one of them.
Punjab Kings Beat Mumbai Indians, Seal Top-Two Spot
As for the match, Punjab Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets. This big win helped Punjab Kings secure a spot in the top two of the points table and qualify for the first Qualifier match of the playoffs, which will be held on May 29 in Mullanpur.
Punjab chased down a target of 185 runs with ease, finishing the match with 9 balls to spare. Josh Inglis scored 73 and Priyansh Arya made 62, playing key roles in the win. Earlier in the match, Punjab’s bowlers — Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, and Vijaykumar Vyshak, each took 2 wickets to limit Mumbai Indians to 184/7.
Punjab Kings became the first team to officially secure a Qualifier 1 spot, ending the league stage with 19 points from 14 matches.
With this loss, MI missed the chance to finish in the top two and ended up in fourth place on the table. They now have to play in the Eliminator match on May 30. Mumbai finished their league campaign with 8 wins, 6 losses, and a total of 16 points.
