Could the IPL 2025 final be between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS)? Many fans and experts think it’s very possible, especially with how well both teams have played this season.

So far, both RCB and PBKS have been in great form, winning key matches and showing strong performances. Interestingly, neither team has won an IPL title yet, so a final between them would be a big deal.

Uthappa Believes That RCB And PBKS Will Play IPL 2025 Final

As the league stage is almost over, Punjab Kings have already booked their place in Qualifier 1, which means they’re guaranteed two chances to reach the final. RCB, on the other hand, are still fighting to finish in the top two of the points table.

Former India cricketer and ex-Mumbai Indians player Robin Uthappa shared his thoughts during a chat on JioHotstar. He believes that RCB and PBKS are the top contenders this season and could meet in the final.

“You want momentum at the right point in the tournament,” said Uthappa, reflecting on Punjab’s dominant win. “They started strong, lost steam mid-season, but regained it just in time for the play-offs. Even with a couple of players leaving for national duty, their squad depth — especially in the batting — looks very solid. Arshdeep Singh hasn’t quite fired yet, and that actually augurs well for them. I have a strong feeling the final is going to be between RCB and Punjab,” he said.

Looking ahead to RCB’s final league match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Uthappa is optimistic.

“I’ve said it before — Punjab and RCB are the ones to watch. RCB have the momentum and their bowling is clicking. Virat Kohli has to anchor the innings, bat deep, and apply pressure. The return of Josh Hazlewood helps, and Yash Dayal has been reliable at the death. If Suyash regains discipline and Krunal Pandya continues his tight spells, they’ll be tough to beat.”

RCB currently sit third on the points table with 8 wins, 4 losses, and 17 points. Their final match against LSG gives them a chance to move into the top two. To do that, they not only need to win, but win big by either 34 runs (if they score 200) or with 21 balls to spare (if they are chasing 200). If they lose, they’ll stay third and will have to play the eliminator against Mumbai Indians.

All eyes are now on the final league match. If things go their way, we might just see a thrilling RCB vs Punjab final this year.
