Earlier in the week, it was announced that England cricketers will be leaving their respective Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) camps to join their national team ahead of the T20 World Cup. Jos Buttler, the sure-shot starter for Rajasthan Royals (RR) is one of those prominent names who is set to leave India.

However, from the RR's point of view, they have already started preparing to replace the England captain in their team. Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who hails from Somerset is expected to come in as Buttler's replacement at the top for the remainder of the season.

The Royals have been practicing with Kohler-Cadmore as the "back-up" for Buttler, Parag said on the eve of the match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), and the Somerset wicketkeeper-batter is likely to make his IPL debut and partner Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top of the order.

Jos Buttler in the ongoing IPL season has scored two centuries while accumulating 359 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 140.78 while averaging 39.89.

The right-handed batter from Somerset is yet to feature in the IPL, however, carries quite some experience in T20 cricket. So far, in 188 T20 games, he has scored 4917 runs with a strike rate of 141, prominently featuring in the English T20 Blast and Pakistan Super League.

RR bought Kohler-Cadmore for his base price of 40 Lakhs, giving him his first IPL contract.
