As the game between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT) was washed out without a single ball being bowled, SRH has qualified for the playoffs, but securing a top 2 position is out of their hands. 

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals' (DC) journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has come to an end as they were knocked out of the tournament.

Despite winning 7 out of 14 games this season, Delhi's 7 losses and negative Net Run Rate (NRR) have prevented them from overtaking Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the 4th position. DC is currently positioned 5th on the table.


DC fought back after initial stumble 

Delhi orchestrated one of the most remarkable comebacks after a disappointing start to their IPL season. This season held special significance for Delhi Capitals, particularly because it marked the return of Rishabh Pant to cricket. 

Pant started off slowly but soon regained his form, performing exceptionally well and reminding fans of his true caliber.


IPL 2024: Fraser-McGurk's season

The standout for DC this season was Jake Fraser-McGurk. The inclusion of the young Australian proved to be a game-changing decision for DC.

Fraser-McGurk consistently delivered monstrous performances in every game he played. Had he been part of the team from the beginning, the Capitals might have secured a spot in the playoffs.

At the same time, Anrich Nortje proved to be a significant disappointment for DC with his poor bowling performances. This season was one to forget for the South African pacer.

Despite not qualifying for the playoffs, DC showcased a commendable effort to stage a strong comeback when many believed they would finish at the bottom of the table.
