Rishabh Pant To Be Back As Pure Batter For Delhi Capitals In IPL 2024

In a significant development, experienced Indian keeper-batter Rishabh Pant is all set to be back as the captain of Delhi Capitals for IPL 2024. 

As per the latest report in Cricbuzz, Pant has progressed quite well and is expected to be available for the whole season. Also, the 26-year-old will play as a pure batter, which means Bengal's Abhishek Porel will don the keeper's hat. 

Currently, the swashbuckling southpaw is actively involved in a warm-up game in Alur, showcasing his improved fitness. 

The sources from BCCI have revealed that Pant will participate in the IPL 2024, leading Delhi Capitals in the marquee event. Therefore, David Warner will solely focus on his batting, hoping for an improved season without the burden of leadership. 

Notably, Pant suffered a nearly fatal accident, resulting in severe injuries which kept him out of action for a long time. However, fortunately for the Capitals, he has shown promising signs during his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. 

Although he is expected to bat in the middle order, the explosive player won’t likely keep wickets as a precaution, bringing the young Abhishek Porel into action in the IPL 2024. Porel also kept wickets in Pant’s absence last year.
